Eleanor Koster(b. Minneapolis, MN), is a research-driven artist and designer based in Baltimore, MD. She practices her relationships with fiber and wood through bending, joining, and plying. She creates sculptures and furniture that ask questions through digital and traditional technologies for crafting textiles and wood work. The languages of craft and computing, intersecting to tell stories of queer longing and otherness. Her practice is materially motivated, considering the material and its environment as collaborators. Her work is highly influenced by growing up in urban centers of the American Midwest.
Eleanor received a BFA in Fiber from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has exhibited in the United States and internationally as a resident artist at Periplus in Alkianos, Greece. She is a teacher and technician at community maker spaces in Baltimore and a member of PULP artist collective which held its inaugural exhibition at Area 405 gallery in October, 2025.
